Ruby Jewel "Susie" Sawyer, 77, of Granger, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Bell Tower Health & Rehabilitation Center, Granger. Susie was born on February 7, 1943 in Elkhart to the late David Sylvester and Jewel Elizabeth (Mahar) Axsom Sr. In addition to her parents, two brothers David Sylvester Axsom Jr., Thomas Axsom and sister Wilmella Axsom preceded her in death.

Surviving are her two sons, Mark "Rattafotus" Sawyer, Scott (Angel) Sawyer and 4 awesome grandchildren Alicia (Ricky) Linde, Kayla (Caleb) Ptak, Nicholas and Autumn Sawyer; and her brother Pete Axsom, "Jewel's Little Baby Boy".

Susie was a loving homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Per her wishes, cremation was chosen. Susie will be laid to rest in the family plot at Rice cemetery.  A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice.
