ELKHART -- Ruby Lucille Hunsberger, 89, of Elkhart, died at 7:44 a.m. Monday (March 31, 2008) in Riverside Village, Elkhart.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and one hour prior to Thursday's 1 p.m. funeral service at Willowdale Church of Christ, 1400 Willowdale Ave., Elkhart. The Rev. Ray Caudill will officiate. Burial and graveside services will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

She was born July 1, 1918, in Wayne County, Tenn., to Archie E. and Donna (Hayes) Holt. She married Raymond Greer in 1934; he died in 1957. She married Lloyd Hunsberger in 1964; he died in 1981 in Elkhart.

Mrs. Hunsberger is survived by two grandsons, David and Charles "Butch" Greer, both of Baltimore, Md.; one granddaughter, Debbie Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Viva Roberts of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and two brothers, Everett (Helen) Holt of Elkhart and Gilbert (Cheryl) Holt of Bedford, Texas.

Ruby was preceded in death by her only son, Charles Raymond Greer; her brothers, Wensten and James Holt; and her sisters, Esther Harder and Marie Morrow.

Ruby mostly was a stay-at-home housewife, but did work some as a retail clerk in Elkhart. She was a charter member of Willowdale Church of Christ in Elkhart.

She took pride in her home and enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques, eating out and visiting her church family and friends.
