Mrs. Ruby R. Holdeman, 82, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 09:15 am.

Ruby was born in Denton, NC on Jan. 16, 1937 to the late Fred and Vada (Yates) Russell, and later married Dean L. Holdeman in Florida on May 10, 1992. He passed away in Elkhart in 2009.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Carolyn Wallace (Bob Wallace); 3 grandchildren Amanda, Nick and Shannon; 6 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; a brother and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah L. "Deb" Swindle.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no immediate services have been scheduled. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.

Ruby was a homemaker who absolutely loved to visit and care for her grand and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to garage sales and the local food banks and visiting with friends. For those of who was close to her was known as Miss Ruby or Grammie.

As May is National Huntington's Disease Awareness Month, memorial donations may be given to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.
