ELKHART -- Rosemary Haines, 85, died from Alzheimer's disease at 4:30 p.m. Friday (Feb. 22, 2008) at Valley View Health Care Center

She was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Warren County to John C. and Louise (Bowman) Huber.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol L. Rush, and one son, Philip M. Haines, both of Elkhart; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carole Dailey of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Huber.

There will be no visitation. A private family memorial service will be held Tuesday. Cremation has taken place. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., is handling arrangements.

A 1940 graduate of Elkhart High School, Ms. Haines formerly worked at Ziesel's department store and as the billing clerk at Excel Corp. She enjoyed doing tai chi with the senior group at the YMCA, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting and playing bridge.
