BRISTOL -- Rose Eileen M. Kenison, 91, of Bristol, passed away at 11:33 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.
She was born in Van Horne, Iowa, on Oct. 10, 1919, to Ludwig and Mary (Fix) Paulsen, who preceded her in death, along with her husband, William A. "Bill" Kenison, and a son, Dennis W. Kenison.
Surviving are daughters Evelyn L. (James "Jim") Newton of Bristol and Eileen J. Ulrey of Mesa, Ariz.; son Eldon C. "Pat" (Rita) Kenison of Phoenix; brothers Louis (Sharon) Paulsen of Abilene, Texas, and Ivan Paulsen of San Francisco; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral Friday, May 6, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart. Pastor Gary Sheets of Bristol will officiate. In accordance to Rose's wishes, her remains will be cremated after the services.
Rose was a homemaker and lived in Arizona for more than 44 years until her health required her to move to Bristol to stay with her daughter.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Elkhart General Hospital and East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care and kindness extended to Rose during her final days.
