Rose Marie Bailey, 95, of Elkhart, passed away Monday evening, June 20, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital. Rose was born on February 6, 1927 in Elkhart, to the late John Robert "Bob" Johnson and Pauline Albertine (Newman) Johnson. She married Leslie E. Bailey on June 4, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Leslie passed away on January 22, 1997 after 46 years of marriage. Surviving are her children, two sons, Terry (Allison) Bailey, Randy Bailey and a daughter, Peggy Bailey; also surviving are two step granddaughters and seven step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband Leslie, brothers, Donald and Gerald Johnson and sisters Roberta Hancock and Pauline Case preceded her in death.

Rose was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, attending the church school there in her younger years. In 1945, she graduated from Elkhart High School. Rose enjoyed the yearly family reunions. She also liked genealogy and learning about her family history.

Friends and family of Rose M. Bailey may call for 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 30888 CR 6, Elkhart, IN 46514. Friends may visit with her family from 10:00 am until service time. Pastor Spencer Mielke will officiate. Burial will follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Middlebury.
