ELKHART — Ronald L. "Ron" Fager, 74, of Elkhart, went home peacefully to be with the Lord Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 2013, in his residence after a battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 1, 1939, to Walter and Hazel (Carpenter) Fager.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Barbara; four daughters, Pamela (William) Wright, Janet Fager, Sharren (Brian) Popenfoose and Karen (Kevin) Carlock; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Gurka of Goshen.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Roy and George Fager.
Ron worked at NIBCO Inc. for more than 35 years and at Tri-State Protection for 14 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Ronald was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He loved his family and the outdoors, and was always busy helping someone in need.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church 29635 C.R. 10, Elkhart. Services celebrating Ron's life will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, with visitation for one hour prior at the church. Pastor David Boehner will officiate. The U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Guard will render military honors at the church. Cremation will follow.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
