EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Ronald E. "Ron" Dick Sr., 74, of Edwardsburg, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 31, 2013, at his home after a brief illness.
Ron was born March 14, 1939, in Elkhart, Ind., to the late Raymond M. and Virginia (Beam) Dick. In addition to his parents, four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
He married Sharon K. Eaton on Feb. 12, 1960, at Calvary Methodist Church in Elkhart.
She survives, as well as their children, Ron (Cindy) Dick of Edwardsburg, Rodney Dick of Indianapolis and Amy (Rick) Raichle of Shelby Township; three loving grandchildren, Preston and Kelsey Dick and Olivia Raichle; and a sister, Virginia Welch of Elkhart.
Ron worked at Jessen Manufacturing for more than 40 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and working in his yard and garden. Ron also loved to do home projects and woodworking. Ron served in the U.S. Army from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1963.
Services celebrating Ron's life will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where friends may visit with the family starting at 1 p.m. Pastor Jeff Reese will officiate. Burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or Cass County Special Olympics.
