Ronald "Ron" Dean Bond, 85, of Union, MI went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

Ron was born on April 19, 1940 in Ida Grove, IA to Willard and Mary (Christianson) Bond. He married the love of his life Patricia Carr.

He is preceded in death by his son, John Joseph Bond Sr., on May 30, 2025 and step daughter, Phyllis Setterblad on February 21, 2024 and a sister, Carolyn.

Ron is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Carr of Union, MI; daughter, Lisa (Dan Bresien) Mae Bond; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Bond; sons Bill and James; sister, Linda; brother, Leroy; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron worked for the FDA for many years as a meat inspector. In his spare time, he was a world class taxidermist. He volunteered at Turkey Tracks (turkey hunting for disabled children) for many years.

Ron played guitar and was a singer in the Adamsville Church of God band for many years. He was an accomplished martial artist earning a 6th degree dan blackbelt.

Ron was a strong Christian man and loved the Lord. He had a smile that would light up a room and will be missed by many friends he's made in his life.

A Funeral Service for Ron will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.

Friends and family may gather for 3 hours from  4:00 pm to 7:00 pm before the service at the funeral home.

He was laid to rest at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, MI.
