Mr. Roland Lamar Seaton, 74, of South Bend, was found passed away at his home on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:24 am. He had been in ill health. Roland was born on September 3, 1946 in Mishawaka to the late Wm. R. "Roland" Seaton and Doris Marie (Snyder) Seaton Brouse of Elkhart.
Along with his mother, Roland is also survived by his sister Janet M. Breackelaere of Anniston, Alabama and aunts Marjorie Ermis and Dorothy Woodward. Additionally, Roland is survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart is assisting Roland's family with cremation arrangements in accordance with his wishes. Burial of his cremated remains will take place in the near future at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, Michigan.
Roland was a quiet, private fellow who enjoyed marching to the beat of his own drum. Quiet and reserved, he absolutely loved to read, especially books on history and philosophy. He had received a Master's Degree at Purdue University where he had planned to teach History until his health became an issue. He also enjoyed cats and kept several at his home as they brought him joy and companionship.
