He was born May 27, 1944, to Glenn and Helen Eby. He married Joan Rago in Cocoa.

She survives, along with his father, Glenn Eby; three sons, Roger (Gay) Eby, Chris Eby and Darren (Christine) Eby, all of Elkhart; his sister, Sharon Dull of Edwardsburg, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

His mother, Helen Eby, preceded him in death.

Roger was employed by Brevard College and was looking forward to retirement. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid woodworker and spent many relaxing hours building furniture and other wood "creations."

A celebration of his life with friends and family will take place Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Fairview Grange Hall, C.R. 45, Goshen.
