NILES, Mich. -- Roger D. McFall, 60, of Niles, passed away on Sunday (Aug. 8, 2010) at 12:01 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born Nov. 27, 1949, in Elkhart, Ind., to Elmer D. and Velda J. (Brown) McFall. He married the former Jerry R. Pierce on April 20, 2002, in Bristol, Ind.

Surviving are his wife Jerry R. McFall of Niles; son Kenny McFall of Carbondale, Colo.; daughter Kelly Hollingsworth of Goshen, Ind.; one granddaughter; stepsons James Roberts and Nathan Pierce, both of Elkhart; three stepgrandchildren; brother Richard A. (Joyce A.) McFall of Elkhart; and sisters Carol Tucker of Middlebury, Ind., and Sharron (Stan) Rink of Elkhart. His mother, Velda J. McFall of Elkhart, and several nieces and nephews survive as well.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer D. McFall, and brother, Robert McFall.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday (Aug. 13, 2010) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place .

Roger worked at Trophy Homes Inc. in Elkhart for more than 26 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed antique trucks and mushroom hunting. He was a huge University of Michigan fan and liked to watch NASCAR, with Dale Earnhardt Sr. being his favorite driver. He graduated in 1968 from Elkhart High School and liked being outdoors and working in his yard.
