ELKHART — Roger Dale Emmons, 59, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born March 15, 1954, in Goshen to Emil E. and Eva Lou (Hardin) Emmons.
Surviving are a son, Roger D. (Stephanie) Gries of Elkhart; father Emil E. Emmons of Milford; sisters Debra (James) Robinson of Elkhart, Darla Brown of North Webster and Teresa Henson of Milford; and a brother, Larry Krauter of Florida. Also surviving are his long-time companion, Debra Dukes of Flint, Mich.; and the mother to his son, Theresa Marvel of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Lou Emmons.
Roger was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan. He loved to fish and be outdoors.
Services celebrating Roger's life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Word of Truth Ministries, 210 E. Catherine St., Milford. Pastors Mike and Deloris Kelly will officiate. In accordance with the family's wishes, Roger's body will be cremated.
Arrangements for Roger are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home Elkhart.
