She was born March 29, 1926, in Chicago to the late David and Luella (Carlson) Gustafson.

Surviving are two daughters, Jan Ostrom of Elkhart and Sue Thorn of Wheeling, W.Va.; three granddaughters, Leslie (Brian) Lathrop of Greencastle, Ind., Melanie (Dustin) Merchant and Kristy McColloch, both of Wheeling; a great-grandson, Dakota Lathrop of Greencastle; and a sister, Ruth Johnson of Kankakee, Ill. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul L. and Wilbur E. Gustafson.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Saturday memorial service at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1732 Garden St., Elkhart. The Rev. Dr. Laurie Proctor of the church will officiate. Cremation has taken place at Robin's request.

Robin worked for Elkhart Community Schools as a social-studies teacher for 81/2 years and served with several social-services organizations. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Elkhart. She earned her bachelor's degree in social studies in 1964 from Goshen College and her master's in 1968 from the University of Notre Dame.
