ELKHART — Roberta J. "June" Allison, 88, of Elkhart, passed away following an extended illness at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart.
She was born July 15, 1927, in Lock Haven, Pa., to the late Fred and Myrtle (Kessinger) Campbell.
She later married Charles S. "Pat" Allison in Elkhart on Dec. 29, 1948. He survives her at home.
Also surviving are her children, Jill S. Allison and Thomas R. (Lynn) Allison, both of Elkhart; granddaughter Lindsay (Paul) McCormick of Auburn, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Jan L. Allison, and her brother, William "Bill" Campbell.
A celebration of June's life will be at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart on Saturday, Sept. 19, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place.
June worked at ExCel Industries of Elkhart for over 18 years and also worked at several area cleaning services. She also kept herself busy at home; she was an accomplished artist specializing in watercolors and a talented seamstress who made "tie-less" kitchen aprons for those with arthritis and dexterity issues.
Her love, though, was cooking and baking, especially her award-winning pies, which she would grace her friends and family with as her expression of love and gratitude. She will be best remembered as a kind and loving mother, wife and friend.
