ELKHART — Robert Lee Williams, 62, of Elkhart, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Aug. 26, while at the IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1954, in Melville, La., to Rudolph and Ella Mae (Lewis) Williams.
Robert leaves to mourn a special friend, Everlena Suggs of Elkhart; two sons, Dwaun Davis of Houston, Texas and Jamal Davis of Melville; five stepchildren, Brandon Davis of Elkhart, Joellen Davis of Beaumont, Texas, Jarvis Davis of Melville, Terrell Suggs of Elkhart and John Suggs of Elkhart; three sisters, Angelia (Mark) Butler of Elkhart, Gertrude (Joe) Williams of Elkhart and Delorse Robertson of Houston; one special granddaughter, Destiny Davis of Houston; one sister-in-law, Mable Williams of Houston; two nephews, James Dodi Smith and Anthony Franklin, both of Elkhart; three nieces, Caperella (Nilge) Rodriguez, Tyquilla (Jason) Conner and Tandra (Jamie) Avie, all of Houston; a very special niece-in-law, Kim Smith of Houston; and a host of great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Evening Star Baptist Church, 522 Block St., Melville, LA 71353. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Sweet Home Cemetery.
