ELKHART — Robert Ray Sanders, 54, of Elkhart, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Elkhart Hospice House.
He was born Dec. 16, 1961, in Greenville, Miss., to Robert Ezkiel and Lillie Mae Sanders.
Survivors include sisters Wilhelmina Sanders, Maggie Burks and Alice Sanders; brothers Eddie and Earnest Jones; children Jasheika Williams, Ebony Sanders, Cynthia Hassel and Jazmyn Sanders; 13 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lee Bertha Williams and Linda Sanders Watson, and brother the Rev. John Price.
Robert was employed with various RV manufacturing businesses for several years in the Elkhart area. Robert loved his family and children with a big heart. He was a strong man and one in a million. He will never, never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the noon homegoing service on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 802 W. Garfield Avenue, Elkhart. Pastor Danny Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery.
