Robert Paul "Robbie" Wayt, 70, of Syracuse and formerly of New Paris, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at The Waters of Syracuse Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born on October 14, 1953, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Albert Sr. and Violet (Saxton) Wayt.

Robbie is survived by his daughters, Carla and Cathy; brothers, William "Dan" (Diana) Wayt, and Albert "Butch" (Mary) Wayt Jr.; nieces, Sherry (Kevin) Grimm, and Dody Blue; nephews, BJ (Cheryl), Tony, and Brian (Cathy) Wayt; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.

In addition to his parents, Robbie was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Wayt.

In accordance with Robbie's wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services have been scheduled at this time. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.

Robbie worked for Viata as a craftsman for over 20 years until his retirement. He also helped at The Landmark in New Paris for many years along with being a fixture there, enjoying some mornings watching television or sharing the comradery of others who came in.

In his spare time, Robbie enjoyed going out to fish in a local spot or taking care of animals around his home. He tended to keep to himself but always was willing to help those around him and made many friends along the way. Robbie, along with all the love and joy he shared, will be dearly missed.
