ELKHART — Robert O. "Bob" Donovan, 75, of Elkhart, passed quietly in his home Wednesday evening, Dec. 18, 2013, after an extended illness.
Bob was born Nov. 1, 1938, in Goshen to the late Robert and Helen (Bontrager) Donovan.
In addition to his parents; stepfather Richard "Dick" Bennett, and granddaughter Colleen Donovan preceded him in death.
He married Judy A. Mullins on Jan. 28, 1995, in Dunlap.
She survives, as do his children, Mark (Cheryl) Donovan of Elkhart, Kathy Genovese of Bristol and Gregory (Kathy) Donovan of Elkhart; stepchildren, JoAnne (Derrick) Gard and Diane Mullins, both of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; also surviving are brothers Jerry (Kay) Donovan of Goshen, Ron (Charlene) Donovan of Alabama and Mike Donovan of Warsaw.
Bob was a tool and die maker at Elkhart Brass for more than 27 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Elkhart Grace Brethren Church. He was an artist who enjoyed woodworking and painting.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
Funeral services celebrating Bob's life will begin at 11 a.m., with one hour of calling prior to the Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, service at Grace Brethren Church, 24775 C.R. 20, Elkhart. Pastor Bob Kulp will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
