ELKHART -- Robert R. Neff, 81, of 1636 Columbian Ave., died at 4:10 a.m. Monday (July 17, 2006) in East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Elkhart to Paul and Laura (Carmien) Neff. On April 15, 1960, he married Joan Miller.
She survives in Elkhart, along with two daughters, Tracy (Alan) Mitchell of Goshen and Cindy (Ron) Sekora of Bristol; a son, Bob Haskins of Elkhart; and two grandsons.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation will take place and ashes will be placed in the Veteran Niche Towers in Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Neff was the owner and operator of Neff's Conoco Station at Oakland and Harrison Street for 30 years. He retired from Accra Pac and then continued to work in the Accra Pac Security Department part-time. He was a member of the Elkhart Moose 599 and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
