Robert Paul McConnell, 60, of Elkhart, passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Center for Hospice Care-Esther’s House.

Robert was born on May 17, 1965 in South Bend to the late, William W. McConnell and Paulette (Olinger) McConnell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Paulette.

Robert is survived by his brother, Scott McConnell of Elkhart; sister, Mikki (Doug) Hudgins and several nieces and nephews.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy as an Airman. He worked as a skilled cabinet maker in the RV industry for many years.

He enjoyed working in his yard and woodworking in his pole barn.

Robert loved rescue dogs, and over the last several years, he had adopted a few and gave them their “forever homes”.

Although he kept to himself, Robert was very passionate about his beliefs.

There will be no services for Robert at a later date. Per the family’s request, he will be cremated and scattered at a later date.

The family would like to extended a thank you to hospice and the first responders for all their care during a difficult time.
