SIPE, Robert Martin, A beloved brother and bon vivant, passed from this life on Friday, September 29, 2023, aged 68.

Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York, son of Ralph (deceased) and Miriam Sipe (deceased) on August 3, 1955. Bob lived in Hamilton, Ohio, from 1956 – 1966. He moved to Elkhart in 1966. Bob attended Elkhart High School, 1970-1973, where he was a member of the Pennant Weekly student newspaper staff and the Pennant Annual yearbook staff. Bob attended Albion College, Albion Michigan, from 1973-1977, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in History and Philosophy. He performed in theater productions in high school and college.

He worked as technical writer for Coachmen Industries from 1977 – 1980. Always a lover of the city, opera, and people, Bob moved to Chicago, Illinois, working as the concierge at the Ambassador West Hotel from 1980 - 1999. Bob next worked in accounting at Roosevelt University in Chicago, from 1999 - 2006. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and The Ohio State University Buckeyes football team.

After leaving that position, Bob moved back to Elkhart, Indiana, to help care for his father, Ralph, and his mother, Miriam. He was a loving and compassionate son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to all. Bob was a lifelong bachelor. He is survived by his brothers, David, and John Sipe; sister-in-law W. Nova (Price) Sipe and nephew, Kyle Sipe.

Following cremation, Bob's remains will be returned to the family. No memorial service is planned. In accordance with his wishes, cremation was chosen under the care of Billings Funeral Home.
