He worked in maintenance at the local Sears for several years prior to becoming the Administrator at the Elkhart Moose Lodge for over 20 years. While serving his club he received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit which is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon any member. Bob married the love of his life, Norma, on January 6, 1992, after five years of courting each other. Bob was a former member of the Elkhart County D.A.R.E. program and became the first president of the FOP Little League that was not active on the police force. Bob loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. In his spare time, he enjoyed sharing breakfast with his classmates and made it a priority to see them every Thursday morning. Bob had a passion for sports, mainly his love of the White Sox and playing golf with his friends. Golf wasn't his only sport, as he was a football star on the Elkhart High football team, and he helped carry his team to the state championship. Bob was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and recently a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Bob will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
