The Good Lord called Bob home on the morning of Saturday, October 14, 2023 in Elkhart.

Robert was born on April 19, 1937 in Elkhart, IN to the late, Harry and Evelyn (Dixon) Forgey. He was united in marriage by the love of his life, Elsie Lou (Wagner) Forgey on April 8, 1960 in Elkhart.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Forgey whom passed away on August 14, 2023; his daughter, Kelly Forgey Reamer; and sister-in-law, Carol Forgey.

Bob is survived by his sons, Gary (Amy) Forgey of Orlando, FL and Randy (Tania) Forgey of Elkhart; brother, Jim Forgey of Orlando; grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Logan, Lauren, Brian, Ashley and Brandon and great grandchildren, Alaina, Addison, Cole, Reed, Chrissy, Katie, Lilly, Peyton, Camden, Landon, Jaxon and Kelly Sue; brother-in-law, Roy Wagner of Elkhart as well as his church family.

Bob was a dedicated man that wore many hats (literally and figuratively). He worked for Matt's Garage and Shuntz Leasing as well as a mechanic for the City of Elkhart, Putnam's and Lochmandy. As a testament to his hard work ethics, he drove cars for Gurley Leep well into his early 80's.

Bob also loved his church family. In his earlier years, he did maintenance at church as well as an usher. You would always find Bob in the back of the church.

Bob was a wonderful storyteller, whom loved talking about cars and his beloved cats. Bob will always be remembered with a smile on his face.

Visitation for Bob will be on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.

A Funeral Service for Bob will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 20, 2023 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 28465 C.R. 4, Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Sarah Miller officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the start of service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Entombment and committal prayers will follow the funeral at Rice Cemetery.
