ELKHART — Robert R. Kent Sr., 69, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
He was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Marinette, Wis. to Harvey and Iva (Perry) Kent.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonya (Gavin) Fisher of Elkhart and Nicole (Jason) Stutsman of Elkhart; three brothers, Carlton Kent of Winchester, Chuck (Sue) Kent of Osh Kosh, Wis. and Ronald (Esther) Kent of Elkhart; two sisters, Donna Swathwood and Ruth (Charles) Estes, both of Elkhart; three grandchildren, Graceyn Stutsman, Finley Fisher, both of Elkhart and Krystel Leaner, of Edwardsburg, Mich.; three stepgrandchildren, Clark and Joseph Stutsman and Alandra Fisher, all of Elkhart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert R. Kent Jr., six brothers and three sisters.
Robert proudly served in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army.
He was later employed as an electrician for several years prior to his retirement.
During retirement Robert enjoyed 4-wheeling, bird watching and was an avid fan of NASCAR, Green Bay Packers and Fox News.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the 6:30 p.m. celebration of life service Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
