ELKHART -- Robert J. "Bob" Haskins Jr., 60, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 17, 2011, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 21, 1950, in Elkhart to Robert J. and Joan (Miller) Haskins Sr.
Surviving are his sons, Todd Haskins and Bobby Haskins III of Elkhart; daughter Emily Haskins of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Joe and Jeremiah Haskins; mother Joan Neff of Elkhart; and his sisters, Cindy (Ron) Sekora of Bristol and Tracy (Alan) Mitchell of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Haskins Sr., and stepfather Robert Neff.
Bob was the owner/operator of H & S Auto Sales on C.R. 10 for more than 20 years. He formerly worked at Moore's Brake & Towing for 20 years. Bob was easygoing and fun to be around, and he loved automobiles, motorcycles and drag racing.
His wishes were to be cremated, and he will be interred at Rice Cemetery. A service of celebration and remembrance will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Grace Bible Church 54230 C.R. 5, Elkhart, with Pastor Mike Fisher officiating. Friends may also meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Simeri's on Beardsley Avenue to share additional memories. Bob's family has entrusted Billings Funeral Home to assist with his arrangements.
