ELKHART — Robert E. "Bob" Harber Jr., 55, of Elkhart and formerly of Mishawaka, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, in his home.
He was born Sept. 15, 1957, in Springfield, Ohio, to Robert E. Sr. and Joyce E. (Warren) Harber.
On July 27, 1991, he married Bonnie E. Prentkowski in South Bend. She survives at home.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include a daughter, Shannon Welch and fiancé Keith Machin of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two grandchildren, Jasmine Christine Welch and James Ray Welch, both of Grand Rapids; and brother Gary Harber of Mishawaka.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia McCoy.
Bob was the owner and operator of a mobile home remodeling business for over 30 years.
He was a former member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 599 and ABATE of Indiana.
He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, restoring vintage automobiles and was an avid NASCAR fan, especially No. 88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his favorite joys.
The family will receive for four hours prior to the 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Cremation will follow at Altera Cremation Services.
