Robert "Bob" E. Deferbrache, 68, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Esther's House in Elkhart. He was born in South Bend, IN on August 7, 1957, to the late Fredrick Deferbrache and Mary (Anderson) Mikel.

Robert is also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Deferbrache. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Deborah (Robakowski) Deferbrache; daughter, Jennifer Robakowski; grandchildren, Noelle and Alex; a great grandchild on the way; brothers, Fred Deferbrache III and Don (Jean) Deferbrache.

Cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Bob worked as a mechanical engineer for years and enjoyed restoring classic cars alongside his grandson, Alex. Together, they recently restored a 68' AMX back to its glory days with a stunning new blue coat. Bob was a jack of all trades; he was a handyman and often helped around the house. Bob loved to spend time with his family whether it was camping with his wife or simply spending time with his grandchildren.

He enjoyed meeting new people and made many friends on their seasonal camping trips together. Bob was a fantastic storyteller and was good at making you feel like you were actually there. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
