ELKHART -- Robert Eugene "Bobby" Atchison, 59, of Elkhart, was discovered passed away at 3:54 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at his home after an illness.
He was born July 9, 1952, in Elkhart, to the late Robert E. and Sadie D. "Dee" (Goldy) Atchison.
Surviving are daughter Stacey R. Atchison of Elkhart; sons Stephen (Deborah) and Joseph Atchison, both of Elkhart; brothers Michael (Vicky) Atchison of Cassopolis, Mich., and Rick Atchison of Fort Myers, Fla.; sisters Cindy (David) Clendenen of Goshen, Debra (Walter) Smith of Elkhart and Gloria (Rick) Stengel of Springfield, Ill.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
No services have been planned, and cremation is to take place. Military graveside honors will be rendered at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date.
Bobby was a woodworker who was employed by Bill's Lumber in Elkhart (now Big C). He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is handling the arrangements, and memorial donations may be made on behalf of the Bobby Atchison Memorial Fund, c/o his daughter, Stacey.
