Robert David Blue, aged 94, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Bob was born on September 16, 1930, in South Bend to James Blue and Mary Blue (Balint).

On June 16, 1951, Bob married Dora Mae Neely in Mishawaka. She preceded him in death in June 2017. Bob is survived by his three sons, Timothy (Julia) Blue of Elkhart, James Blue of Kalispell, Montana, and Joel (Raquel) Blue of Wallkill, New York; one sister, Marilyn Buckhold of Brandon, Florida; four grandchildren—Kristin Grimm, Aaron Blue, Landon Blue, and Jaelyn Blue— and five great grandchildren.

Bob was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in April 1942. Over the past 83 years, his life was devoted to helping people learn about his God, Jehovah. His genuine interest in people and his kind manner endeared him to many in the community.

From 1949 to 1951, he served as a volunteer in the headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in Brooklyn, New York. Bob helped to start the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Goshen, Indiana. From 1957 to 1959, he served as a traveling minister in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. After returning to Indiana to raise a family, he continued to be active in organizing large conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio.

Bob worked as general manager with Richardson Homes, Continental Tire & Wheel, and Jackson/Big Ten Tire until he retired in 1996.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and playing with the family dogs. Many happy memories were made around games of pinochle, basketball, and ping pong. Hungarian kiffles were always welcome in the Blue home.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Elkhart North Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 1921 Jeanwood Drive in Elkhart. Michael Hawkins, a traveling minister from Duluth, Minnesota, will officiate. Those not able to attend in person may connect via Zoom.
