ELKHART — Robert Lee Booze Jr., 80, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Earle, Ark., to the late Robert Lee Sr. and Emma Lee Booze.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Lee (triplet), Leotha, Pearline, Alice, Nathaniel, Mary, Florence and Johnnie.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory four children, Stephanie Conrad, Nelson E. Lewis, Robert (Renee) Booze and Robbin Sharpe; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; former wife Jean Booze, all of Elkhart; one brother, Cleophus (Doris) Booze; and three sisters, Rosie Lee Washington (triplet), Earline Bailey of Detroit and Bessie (Clyde) Battle Booze of Romulus, Mich.
Robert worked at Ziesel's Department Store before opening Bob's Car Wash and Reconditioning, which he owned and operated for 40 years. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post 9944 and the Jaycees.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, with visitation one hour prior at Canaan Baptist Church, 933 Fieldhouse Ave., Elkhart. Pastor Sam Frison will officiate. U.S. Army military honors will be rendered at the church following services. Burial will be Friday, May 31, 2013, in Marion National Cemetery.
