EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Robert D. "Bob" Boettcher, 87, of Edwardsburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 15, in his residence.
Bob was born Aug. 13, 1926, in South Bend, Ind., to William H. and Goldie Viola (Hill) Boettcher.
He married Emma Mae Toler on July 22, 1972, in South Bend. Emma passed away Aug. 3, 2008.
Surviving are sons Michael E. (Mary) Toler of Goshen, Ind., and Donald E. (Charlotte) Toler of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren survive as well.
A son, Frank Toler; daughter Sybil Toler; his parents; four brothers; and three sisters preceded him in death.
Bob retired from Dodge manufacturing division of the Reliance Electric Company in Mishawaka after 23 years of service to the company. Bob was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Elkhart. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and bowling, and he wintered in Mission, Texas, for many years.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Services celebrating Bob's life will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, with calling one hour prior at Bethel Assembly of God Church, 600 E. Bristol St., Elkhart. Pastor David Lade will officiate. Burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery.
