Obituary
NILES, Mich. — Robert Eugene "Bob" Funkhouser Sr., 89, of Niles, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, at Chalet of Niles.
He was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Mishawaka, the son of the late Earl and Donna (Moore) Funkhouser.
Survivors include four sons, Robert E. "Bob" (Michelle) Funkhouser Jr. of Niles, Daniel Funkhouser of Mishawaka, Paul Funkhouser of Goshen and Peter (Gina) Funkhouser of Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Julia (Geronimo) Guerra of Shipshewanna; one brother, Phillip (Judy) Funkhouser of Osceola; one sister, Lois (Jerry) Lewis of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, JoAnn Whiteman, Willa Dean Olson and Martha Dittman and three brothers, James, Roy and Thomas Funkhouser.
Bob was employed at Conn-Selmer for more than 20 years prior to his retirement.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the 6 p.m. celebration of life service Friday, Nov. 11, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Randy Perkins and Pastor Mark Williams will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice at Home in memory of Bob.
