Obituary

ELKHART -- Richard William "Dick" Wagner, 72, of Elkhart, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2008) in Elkhart General Hospital.


He was born June 2, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Richard Peter and Marguerite Marie (Ingram) Wagner. On Oct. 12, 1968, he married Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Dahms in St. Joseph, Mich.


She survives along with four sons, Richard (Penny) Wagner and Larry Dahms, both of Elkhart, Michael (Jennifer) Wagner of Edwardsburg and Ron Wagner of South Bend.; four daughters, Renee (James) King of Seiverville, Tenn., Lana Gregory of Valdosta, Ga., Becky (Mark) Adcock of Kentucky and Laura Gossett of Elkhart; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred (Bobbie) Krotzick of South Bend; and two sisters, Marion Schlitter and Pat (Leonard) Kublick, both of Coloma, Mich.


He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Wagner.


Mr. Wagner was a truck driver for 20th Century Fiberglass, Elkhart, for more than 23 years, and for Hoosier Transport, Elkhart. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and crafts.


Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Jerry Floor, a retired minister and friend of Mr. Wagner, will officiate. Burial will be in Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, Mich.
