ELKHART — Richard W. "Rick" Tice, 59, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at his residence.

He was born July 15, 1952, in Elkhart to Robert W. and Phyllis A. (Leatherman) Tice.

Survivors include his father, Robert W. Tice of Elkhart; and two brothers, Steven W. Tice of Bristol and Timothy W. (Jackie) Tice of Bremen.

Rick was a 1971 graduate of Concord High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1975. After serving in the military, Rick was employed for more than 16 years with Bayer HealthCare, which is now owned by Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.

He was a member of American Legion Post 143 in Bristol and United Steel Workers Local 12273. Rick enjoyed golfing, watching college sports, especially Notre Dame football, and visiting friends at the Red Bird Cafe in Bristol.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at DAV Chapter 19, 1205 Middleton Run Road, Elkhart. Pastor Tony Tice will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Detail and the DAV Chapter 19 Funeral Honor Guard.

Veterans Funeral Care at Billings, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, has been entrusted with arrangements.
