Richard "Randy" Leighton, 65, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN.

Randy was born on May 7, 1957 in Phoenix, AZ to the late Donald E. Leighton and Helen M. (Eggleston) Leighton.

Randy is preceded in death by his son, Richard R. Leighton, Jr. on September 10, 2022.

Randy is survived by his children, Summer (Blanford) Tolbert, Gracie Cudney, Brandi Leighton, Tyler Leighton and Michelle Clapham; brothers and sisters, Tina Leighton, Theresa (Timothy) Swoape, Gerry (Chris) Leighton, Dennis (Debbie) Leighton and Roger Leighton; best friend, Brad Marshall and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Randy proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. Randy lived the trucking life. He recently gave his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Randy was a motorcycle enthusiast especially when it came to Harley Davidsons. He was an old soul who enjoyed antique cars and listening to old country.

Family was everything to Randy. He would fiercely protect his family but was also the "life of the party". He had a big heart and would give anything for anyone.

A Memorial Service for Randy will be on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.

Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm before the start of the service at the funeral home.

A Graveside service will follow at Olive West Cemetery with military honors.
