Richard L. Moore Richard L. Moore, 89, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at his home.

Richard was born on September 19, 1932, to the late Andrew and Thelma (Myers) Moore in South Bend, IN. He was married to the love of his life, Betty Jo (Ellsworth) Moore on May 3, 1952, in South Bend. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Rex Moore, Max Moore and a sister, Norma Littlejohn.

Richard is survived by his wife of 69 ½ years, Betty of Elkhart; children, Gary (Lori) Moore; Paula Moore- both of Elkhart; and Tanda (David) Stiffler of Edwardsburg, MI; grandchildren, John (Loritta) Slager, Amy Anderson, Brian (Lauren) Warner, Tyler Moore, Amber (Josh) Labbus, Michael (Jenn) Moore, Calie (Craig) Padgett and Crystal (Jonathan) Bailey; great grandchildren, Christopher Slager, Hailey Slager, Easton Padgett, Autumn Padgett and John Richard "Jack" Labbus; and brother, Ronald Moore of Florida. He loved their cat -Muff aka Sissypants with all his heart.

Richard was the Maintenance Foreman with Miles Laboratories/Bayer for 43 years, retiring in 1994. He also was at Wells Cargo as a painter for several years as a second job. Richard was an Elder with the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church. He was the "go to" guy for anything that needed to be fixed at the church. Richard was a member of D.A.V. Chapter 19. He and Betty loved to play euchre. He enjoyed playing a round of golf and bowling especially when it was with his Miles buddies. Richard loved being outdoors- whether it be camping, mushroom hunting up north or working in his yard. He never knew a stranger and he talked to everybody. Richard was a real "character", and he will be greatly missed.

A Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 10:00am -1:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Scheel and Rev. Walt Davis officiating. Graveside service and burial will be at Prairie Street Cemetery.
