ELKHART -- Richard G. "Dick" Kelly, 66, of Elkhart, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 1, 2009) in his home.
He was born June 20, 1942, in Hart, Mich., to Howard Basil and Fern Edith (Willard) Kelly.
Mr. Kelly is survived by two sons, Mike (Kim) Kelly of Elkhart and Rick Kelly of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Susan (Brandon) Krumweid of Snowflake, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and three brothers, Willard (Betty) Kelly of Kingman, Ariz., Jerry Kelly of Bowie, Ariz., and Larry Kelly of Wadsworth, Ohio.
Mr. Kelly worked at CTS from 1965 until 1998, when he retired. He was a member of its union and Quarter Century Club. He was a 1960 graduate of Elkhart High School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War honorably discharged in 1964.
He was a member of the NRA, an avid cook and loved his bulldog, Bob.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A remembrance service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial with graveside military honors rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps, Shelby VFW Post 9441 and Shelby American Legion Post 30 Honor Guard will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shelby Township, Mich.
