ELKHART — Richard H. "Dick" Hobson, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, March 25, in his residence.
He was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Canton, Ill., to Herbert T. and Bertha C. (Johnson) Hobson.
Survivors include his wife, Sally E. (Alwine) Hobson of Elkhart; one son, Richard E. Hobson of Elkhart; three daughters, Christine Artley, Sue Hobson and Lynne (Charles) Stuart; seven grandchildren, Alisha, Kelly, Jennifer, Leslie, Bradley, Erica and Michel; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Ann Myers.
Dick was employed as a tool and die maker for Adams Westlake and later worked at CTS for several years prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Michiana Harley Owners Group; H.O.G.; ABATE; Simonton Lake Sportsman Club; Airline Snowmobile Club; the Elkhart Moose Lodge; the Cassopolis (Mich.) Dance Club; and the Sons of the Legion Post 74.
Dick was a loving husband for 67 years, and a proud father and papa.
The family will receive friends three hours prior to the 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Ed Jones will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Rice Cemetery at a later date.
