Richard Kent Edsall, 81, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Greenleaf Health Campus.

Richard was born on January 9, 1943 to Richard Clarence Edsall and Helen Fay (Stone) Edsall in Elkhart, IN. He married the love of his life, Sharon A. (Dattilo) Edsall.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon on November 23, 2023.

Richard is survived by his children, Rick (Rosa) Edsall and Julie Edsall, both of Elkhart; beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Gael, Guerrero, Refugio and Romero; and sister, Judith (Jerry) Kent of Indianapolis, IN.

Richard graduated from Elkhart High School where he was also equipment manager. He worked at Martins Supermarket in his youth.

Richard retired as a transit driver for South Bend Transpo for 35 years. He also worked at Service Master, Avis Rental Car, Conrail and Tristate Lock. Richard was also an usher at Notre Dame Football games later in his life. He was an avid Ohio State, Green Bay Packer and New York Yankee fan.  Richard attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was also a member of the local Masonic Lodge.

Richard was a family man and was the provider for his family. He was hard worker and instilled those values with his children and grandchildren.

Richard will be greatly missed.
