June 21, 1943 – April 23, 2025
Richard C. "Dick" Denman, 81, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born in Mishawaka on June 21, 1943, to the late Wayne Elson and Virginia Jane (McCreary) Denman.
Dick is also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald, Larry, Keith, Gene, and Duiane Denman. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Denman; daughters, Ann Morris-Yochum, Pamela Klammer, and Tina M Jeske; son, Larry D. Denman; stepdaughters, Connie Dittman, Peggy York, Janet Brown, and Susan McClure; stepson, Anthony McClure; 22 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and brothers, George and Jerry Denman.
In accordance with Dick's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. No service will be held at this time. Memorial donations in honor of Richard may be given to a donor of one's choice.
Dick was an independent man with a witty sense of humor. He was a manager of Sterling Avenue Liquor Store for 54 years prior to retiring. Dick enjoyed talking to many of his customers and made many friends with the regulars.
Family meant the world to Dick and there is no place he'd rather be than to be with his wife, kids, and grandchildren…besides Wal-Mart (he loved to shop). In his spare time, he could be found watching Nascar with a cold Bud light in his hand. Dick enjoyed watching "The Voice" with his wife and absolutely loved her cooking, especially when she would make spaghetti or goulash. He loved to make German potato salad for his girls, and they would always fight over it because it was simply the best. Richard will be sorely missed by his loving family.
