Obituary

Richard Eugene "Dick" Bressler, born on August 23, 1949, in Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and respect for everyone he encountered. Raised in Edwardsburg, Michigan, Dick's childhood was filled with fond memories of time spent with family, especially during holiday cookouts and Christmas celebrations. He grew up with a love for the simple life, surrounded by family and close friends.

Dick was the son of Roger and Virginia Bressler, who dedicated their lives to farming. He is survived by his brother, Jim Bressler, and a foster brother, Jerry Skibee. A man of faith and principles, he lived by the words, "Don't treat anyone less than what you want them to treat you. Treat everyone with respect."

After attending two years of college, Dick found his calling in graphic arts and eventually took on a supervisory role at Mossberg & Company where he cultivated a number of close relationships with coworkers and customers alike for over 32 years, including the renowned graphic designer, Paul Rand. He later retired from Michiana Plastics in 2019. His greatest professional joy came from working alongside his close friends, who remained dear to him throughout his life.

In October 2001, Dick met his beloved wife, Mary Ann Krieger, in a computer chat room, beginning a love story that would span over 23 years. Together, they built a blended family, which included his daughter Amber Bressler and daughter Yvonne (Bruce) Maclachlan and 2 grandchildren, Rowan and Elowyn, as well as five stepchildren and six step-grandchildren. He took immense pride in his daughters, stepchildren, and grandchildren, cherishing every milestone and family gathering.

Dick enjoyed spending his free time fishing with his uncles and friends. He had a deep appreciation for Westerns and college football, especially cheering on his beloved USC Trojans. Dick looked forward to holiday meals with the family.

Dick will be remembered by his family and friends as someone who "never met a stranger," a man who approached every relationship with warmth and openness. His kindness, respect for others, and love for family and friends will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
