Richard Clifton Benedict, 81, of Elkhart, passed away, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease, on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Richard was born on May 13, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late, Earl and Esther (Carlson) Benedict. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Reed.

Richard is survived by his children, Craig Benedict of Edwardsburg, Denise Seabolt of Dowagiac, MI, and Michelle (Jim) Smith of Edwardsburg, MI; former wife, Sandra Gallegos of South Bend; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Richard was a painter at AM General for many years. He frequented auctions where he collected many items. Richard could be seen at Peddlers and 5 points Auctions. He also fancied classic cars.

There will be no services for Richard and he will be cremated. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
