Obituary
ELKHART — Regina A. "Gina" Cass, 63, of Elkhart, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18.
She was born in Elkhart on March 11, 1951, to the late Floyd V. Kern and Jean (Huff) Eichelburg-Pellus.
Surviving are her daughters, J. Nicole (Mitch) Thorson of Elkhart and Michele R. Leno of South Bend; brother David (Esther) Kern of London, Ontario; her former spouse and father of the children, John J. Kasamis of Syracuse; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes, no immediate services have been planned. Cremation is to take place. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
Gina served as an accountant and bookkeeper for several local businesses throughout the years, including WNIT, Cook Heating and Air Conditioning, and C.G. Conn. She will be best remembered for her free spirit, her talent in crafts and artwork, and her love for classic rock and animals.
Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
