IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rebecca Faye
(Gandee) Drake
April 14, 1944 – August 3, 2021
Rebecca Faye Drake, 77, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 3, 2021, at her home in the love and comfort of her husband and family.
Rebecca was born on April 14, 1944, in Clendenin, West Virginia to the late Virgil and Annie (Roton) Gandee.
Charles was driving by a restaurant in his 60 Mercury one day, when he spied a beautiful young lady outside, he stopped to talk to her. It was the beginning of a beautiful life together, as they fell in love and were married on January 21, 1966, in Reamer, West Virginia.
Rebecca is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles "Charlie" Drake Sr., three handsome sons, Charles Larry (Wendy) Drake Jr., Douglas Shawn (Holly) Drake and Bryan Keith (Marie) Drake; 15 loving grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; as well as a brother Raymond Gandee; and three sisters Katherine (Kenneth) Murdock, Florence (Jim) Schoolcraft and Helen (Kenneth) Loney.
Rebecca was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to gamble, whether it was at the casino, on her computer or an occasional scratch off, she was very lucky and won most of the time. Family was the most important part of her life, she was a great cook and was known for her graham cracker pie, hillbilly hotdogs and peanut butter fudge and her famous homemade biscuits. No one went away hungry at her home. She had been known to sing and dance a bit and liked country music, especially Conway Twitty. She will be loved and missed by many.
"Goodbye Darling" Charles whispered to her. As he held her hand and looked upon the face of his beloved wife one last time.
Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home. We extend our deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to Rebecca's family and friends.
