UNION, MI- Raymond G. "Ray" Brockus, 81, of Union, MI, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Elkhart General Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born October 21, 1933 in South Bend to Ray and Elsie (Smith) Brockus.
Survivors include his wife, Patti A. Brockus of Union, MI; 2 sons, Kenneth R. (Catherine L.) Brockus of Yardley, PA and Scott A. (Kelly Garrett) Brockus of Elkhart; 1 step-son, Troy (Pamela) Longbrake of Elkhart; 1 step-daughter, Amy Ziolkowski of South Bend; 4 grandchildren, Virginia (Elton) Hoffman of Elkhart, Andrew (Kimberly) Brockus of Warren, MI, Annette Brockus of Coldwater, MI and Daniel Brockus of Yardley, PA; 2 step-grandchildren, Zoie Ziolkowski and Zack Ziolkowski, both of South Bend and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Ann Brockus; 1 son, Robert A. Brockus; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Ray proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War and later worked as a automobile and RV salesman for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a longtime member of the Elkhart DAV 19.
There will be no public services and private graveside service will be held in Kessington Cemetery in Union, MI at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Ray.
