BRISTOL — Raymond S. Drust, 70, of Bristol, gently departed this life Wednesday morning, April 29, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen.
Raymond was born Nov. 27, 1944, in Onaway, Mich., to Joseph S. and Clarice (McKay) Drust.
He married the former Betty J. Wilson on May 22, 1965, in Coldwater, Mich.
She survives as well as his sons, Vincent Joseph Drust and Joe F. Drust, both of Bristol; daughters Jeanne R. (Ryan) Groth of Osceola and Theresa V. (Matthew) Whitlock of South Bend; a granddaughter, Allison Groth at home; brothers Charles (Vera) Drust of South Dakota, Ernest (Alta) Drust of White Pigeon, Mich., and Norbert (Donna) Drust of Bronson, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cpl. Daniel R. Drust; infant brother Vincent Drust; and sisters Patricia Bailey and Loretta Blue.
Raymond was a 1963 graduate of Union City (Mich.) High School. He worked many years in the refrigeration business and was the owner of Bristol Refrigeration for 10 years. He also worked in the RV industry.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol, where he served as an usher. Ray enjoyed the outdoors, vacations in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, hunting and fishing.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 403 W. Vistula St., Bristol. The evening will conclude with a parish rosary at 5:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, with visitation for an hour prior, also at St. Mary's. The Rev. Robert "Bob" VanKempen will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol.
The family asks that you kindly omit sending flowers and give any memorials to St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church.
