BRISTOL- Randall S. "Randy" Dobbs, 70, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born October 16, 1944 in South Bend to Harlan and Kathleen L. (Schlaefer) Dobbs.
Surviving are his wife, Donna R. Dobbs of Bristol; 1 son, Ryan Dobbs of Elkhart; 1 daughter, Jodie (Steve) Papandrea of Bristol; 1 brother, Brad Dobbs of Milwaukee, WI; 2 sisters, Marilyn (Gary) McClellan of Hutchinson, KS and Tammy (Jerry) Muncie of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Eric Dobbs of Colorado Springs, CO, Elainna Papandrea and Maria Rose Papandrea, both of Bristol; several nieces and nephews.
Randy served in the US Army from 1962 until 1965 when he was honorably discharged from service.
He was later employed for more than 40 years in the RV industry working for both Hy-Line and Travel Line.
He was a member of the Elkhart DAV 19, Bristol American Legion Post 143 and the National Hot Rod Association.
The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the 2:00 PM funeral service on Saturday, January 24th at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 3300 Benham Ave., Elkhart, IN 46517. Pastor Andrea Hickey and Rev. Tom Thews will officiate. Cremation will follow at Altera Cremation Services and inurnment will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer or Wellfield Botanic Gardens, Elkhart, in memory of Randy.
