He was born on Oct. 5, 1916, in Jackson, Mich., to Ralph and Lucille (Bailey) Reed Sr. He married Ann M. McLaughlin on Feb. 11, 1946, in McKeesport, Pa.

She survives along with one son, Raymond R. Reed of Elkhart; one daughter, Sharon (Doug) Roate of Sarasota, Fla.; two granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial will be later in Pennsylvania. Mr. Reed donated his body to Indiana University Anatomical Education Program, Indianapolis. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., is assisting with local arrangements.

Mr. Reed worked for the Uniroyal Corp. in Mishawaka for more than 30 years. He was a member and former trustee of the Eagles Lodge, Mishawaka, and a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed model airplanes.
