EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- Ralph Kenneth Price, of Sunrise Drive, Edwardsburg, Mich., passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008, after a two-and-a-half-year courageous battle with cancer.

He was born April 22, 1941, in Elkhart, Ind., to his parents Ralph S. Price and Helen Elizabeth (Hall). He married Rebecca Ann Hicks in Elkhart on Sept. 10, 1961.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rebecca; his two sons, Gregory Kent (Erin) of Granger, Ind., and Steven J. Price of Mishawaka, Ind.; his four grandchildren, Alex J. and Mackenzie Taylor Price of Edwardsburg, and Stephanie Amber and Ashley Marie Price of Granger, Ind.; and a brother, Donald Ray Price of Elkhart. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ralph graduated from Elkhart High School in 1959. He worked for Blessings and C.G. Conn's for several years. He then went on to found Elkhart Band Repair, a business he owned and operated for the last 25 years.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was enthusiastic Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Notre Dame fan. His business, Elkhart Band Repair, sponsored slow-pitch softball teams in the 1980s. During the summer, Ralph always looked forward to spending time at the lake.

There will be no viewing or services. There will be a Memorial Open House Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, from 1 to 4 p.m. at his home, 70663 Sunrise Drive, Edwardsburg, MI 49112, with a Celebration of Life Speech at 2 p.m.
